Normal Skin
Of all the skin types, many wish for the balance of the normal skin type. A description of the normal skin type is one where normal skin flora tends to be in good balance, skin is firm and stays fresh looking for long periods of time. However, in all reality, those in this category tend to range the normal to dry or normal to oily skin range. When a person has a normal skin type, keeping a good balance of moisture in the skin is a fairly easy task compared to other skin types.
Often a person is unsure as to what group they are in but fortunately, there are ways to determine if it is the normal to oily skin type. Normal to oily skin is fairly even in tone with not too much in the way of large pores but has a small amount of shine usually by the end of the day. Beyond an occasional small break out, oily to normal skin also tends to have little in the way of blemishes.
In this case, it is good to pick a cleanser that is not too harsh. Whether it is oily or normal skin, the skin on the face is delicate and harsh cleansers should never be used. A majority of the time, those with this skin type are often free to try a number of different skin care products without worry of irritation or breakouts.
Another advantage of having normal skin is that it is easy to pick up on any anomalies that may occur on the skin that go beyond the average breakout. Moles or lesions that grow bigger or change color are always cause for concern and should be checked by a doctor or dermatologist right away. However, when skin problems are a constant source of aggravation, these types of problems can often go unnoticed or ignored.
There is much online in the way of information on skin conditions, rashes and other skin complaints. One can find pictures of normal skin cells at work and illustrations representing cross sections of a normal skin cell. With the skin being the largest organ of the body, the more education one has about the skin, the healthier they can be. Learning to recognize problems before they begin can be the best way to keep things from getting out of balance, a key element to having healthy skin.
