Oily Skin

Oily skin has many advantages and disadvantages. While oily skin has much to deal with in the way of clogged pores and acne, it is a skin type that does not show the effects of aging like other skin types. Oily skin care can sometimes require repeat treatments throughout the day and wearing make up or preventing breakouts can be difficult. Luckily, make up for oily skin is readily available as are moisturizers that now use a water base instead of a petroleum base.

It is not unheard of in some cases for those with this skin type to use an oily skin care cleaner and moisturizer up to three times per day. An oily skin treatment that is water or gel based is always a best bet for this skin type as this kind of base will evaporate off of the skin. A treatment for oily skin that relies on a glycerin or petroleum base has been proven to be too heavy, clogging pores and leading to breakouts.

Even though it would seem moisturizer for oily skin would be unnecessary, it is quite important. The skin on the face is thin compared to the rest of the body and a lack of moisture can badly damage this thin facial skin. There are also products for oily skin with an anti aging product that helps revitalize and lessen the effect of wrinkles.

For those on the extreme end of oily skin, an oily skin care therapy product that works effectively can be like searching for the Holy Grail. Sufferers will try one oily skin remedy after the other to no avail. Often the best treatment for uneven oily skin is actually a mixture of diet and a skin care regimen that is followed regularly. Eliminating red meats and sticking to a diet of chicken, fish and vegetables can often help reduce skin problems.

Sometimes medications can have side effects. For those who use Propecia, oily skin with bouts of acne can result. Typically this has to do with those prescription drugs that change hormone levels. One good oily skin care tip is to keep hair and hands away from the face at all times. This is especially prudent in acne care and oily skin. Inflammation occurs often and easily because with oily skin, pores can clog at the tip of a hat. It is also a good idea for oily skin and fragrance to avoid each other whenever possible.
